Nick Pearson is founder of Jacaranda Health, which he launched while working at the Acumen Fund in Nairobi. He has worked on market-based solutions for urban public health in India and Vietnam for PATH, and with entrepreneurs serving the urban poor in East Africa for the Acumen Fund.  He is inspired by his fiancee Dr. Megan Huchko, an obstetrician on the faculty at UC San Francisco who has been working with low-income women in Kenya.

Farai Shonhiwa is a doctor from Zimbabwe and recent graduate of Harvard Business School. She is has worked with low-income patients in public hospitals in South Africa and as a consultant with the Monitor Group in Johannesburg. Farai is leading the development of Jacaranda’s marketing strategy, and directing research to understand the needs of our customers and the competitive landscape.
Jane Del Ser is a graduate of Columbia Business School with a background in mobile technologies and enterprise software. She is working on Jacaranda’s strategy for electronic medical records, and incorporating mobile technologies into patient outreach, clinical support, and billing and payment.
Jane Adera has led Jacaranda’s team of field researchers in the low-income areas of Nairobi to understands the needs of our target customers.  Jane has an advanced diploma in Public Health from Kenyatta University, is working towards a Masters in Community Health and Development, and has over 10 years of experience in health field research with low-income women, consulting for organizations such as Family Health International, Plan International, and Population Council.
Alka Tandon is currently a student at Harvard Business School studying entrepreneurship. She has worked on maternal health issues for the MacArthur Foundation and served as a consultant to a maternity hospital chain in India. Alka has been focused on analyzing payment / billing options for Jacaranda.
